Fox Valley Models N Scale Hiawatha is DELIVERED !!

Well I recieved my Fox Valley Models N Scale Hiawatha set via "Special Delivery" yesterday.  So I headed to my N scale club to give it a test run, since my home layout is DCC and the Hiawatha isn't yet.  Below are some shots of the Hiawatha running around the MNSE club layout.  The locomotive ran "GREAT" right out of the box and the passengers looked awesome and rolled very nicely.  GREAT JOB MATT !!

Thanks again to Matt at FVM for making this historic train available.  GOOD JOB !!

Glad to see these have finally landed!  Looks really nice!  If they run well I hope FVM will consider more N Scale steam.

Cool, its finally here. So now what are they going to complain about over on trainboard?

Kinda like the way you keep looking away

You mean there wasn't a significant discount for late delivery...? That's unreal... the fact that FVM had YOUR capital tied up in their product and couldn't ddeliver the nano second they anticipated is unacceptable. You should sue; sue I say.....

Is that the Trainboard tripe to which you refer.......? In all my years I've never been so shocked with such a stuipd thread of thought.........what a load of horse hockey !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I'm really interested to see what's under the hood on this thing.  When you pop the lid to put in the decoder, take some shots of the drive.

Guess mine will be coming soon.  Don't even model the Milwaukee but it's so darn cool looking, I had to have one.

And Lee, I'll let you borrow it so you can test drive.

So, who is going to be the first one to weather it?  ;)
I would have a hard time taking that step.

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Ya, I'd be shaking like a leaf to take a weathering brush anywhere near that beauty....

Tom is the only person I would let near it for weathering and then a very light touch.

I will get some shots when I pop the hood.  Anyone know what decoder, non-sound that will fit in the 4-4-2.  As far as weathering, I don't think I will.  The Milwaukee kept there stuff pretty clean, at least that's the excuse I'll use.

There is a train show here in Milwaukee this weekend, be interesting to see how many will be running there.  I know of at least 4-5 other MNSE members that have picked up theirs.

Keep in mind though John, that's at the beginning of a run.

A little here and there will really bring out the depth in it, and I feel like a light wash will make the details really pop too.
