This should be appropriate mid-late 60's, PA's slightly earlier in that period, F's or FP45's would bring you up to Amtrak.

Nice photography, nice work on the train, and it's environment. Thanks. Your work is truly intimidating, er, inspiring  ;D.

Oh man..........that is serious sweetness !
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Masterful work in all respects.

Care to share how you created the crops?

It's a Japanese version of astroturf, I believe made for putting greens.  Charlie snagged it for us around 10 years ago, but I've since seen other "fine grain" versions here in the states as well.  Floquil paint seems to stick pretty well, with the main color being Weyerhauser Green, brighter greens and browns misted for variation.

I should mention these were taken on the CGW layout.  It hasn't been touched much since we started building the Modutrak layout.  (Didn't really think about that fact until Cody popped the question during his Trainfest interview)  Not only have my scenery skills improved since we built the CGW, but the materials we're using on the modular layout feel light years ahead. So the CGW's been kinda mothballed.  But, it still seems to photograph OK, so I should spend some more time doing just that.

Santa Fe. All the way!

Nice to see the CGW again too.  Nice work Mike.  The photos are almost as nice as watching it in person.

True to prototype, beauty included  8)
And the Astroturf trick is exactly what I was looking for to represent midwest cultivated fields  ;)
