I drive a 1980 VW Scirocco ... 8) And some other VWs

My nephew had about 400,000 miles on his Golf when he sold it.

I just passed 175K in my Jetta and am gonna push it Baltimore to Carbondale later this week, in 1/2 day. Not much compared to your nephew's Golf (I've had two that I sold off, so it may have been one of those) but people still bug their eyes out when they hear that number. Good to know someone will buy such a high mileage vehicle. The secret for me has been an expert Polish mechanic.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Well, for any one that has owned a BMW it really is a great driving experience. Thank god I hadn't started sinking serious money into it. Really, it was just starting to take shape, and the only thing I can figure out right now is that I have had trouble with batteries (lets leave the parts store name out), and I had 3 bite the dust on me. Well this one was fresh, and I am wondering if it reversed polarity, because the electrics just died right before it caught fire, so I am thinking something got hot, and then fire broke out

But, FYI, I do have a 2003 540i parked in the garage, I just purchased that bad boy a week ago... I think the convertible got jealous, decided to be suicidal, and took care of its self.

Thanks for the welcome back, but thats the best part of the hobby. It will always be there, and my GEVO's are patiently waiting to go back into DPU stack train service.
