For Europe - mostly Germany, just read their listings beforehand - there are some who are clearly willing to ship to the US and some who are not. Just find the ones who do. After a while you will be adept at "Model railroading German" as a second language.Lou
What gets me are the sellers that say they ship to North America, but not the US.
I understand sellers not wanting to sell to ppl in the US be atleast give me a heads up so I pass over it. I bid on and won an auction the seller said they ship to all of North America. I asked for the invoice only to get a response sorry I don't ship to the US.
I,m an American livin in Germany also.
where abouts in germany? Rhineland-Plafz by any chance?
Canada is the worst in terms of time, I guess it take a while to get things over the border. Never a problem, but it takes a while (Fasttracks).
Canadian Custom's is opening far more packages and adding duty to them.
It's stunning how long it takes to get shipments to folks in Canada...This seemed to start right around April of this year. Before that it would be 8 days, 12 days... Maybe a couple of weeks. But now it's routinely over two weeks, with some as long as a month. And Canadian Custom's is opening far more packages and adding duty to them.
I am surprised you say it take that long; I recently got two USPS packages from the great 48 in three days.... it took eight days for a similar package from Vancouver....
