c55 turnouts

Something I noticed last night while messing around with the c55 turnouts. They have drawbars on both sides of the turnout for wiring and flipping the points. Setting up a yard I'm going to have to cut off one side of that setup. Is that ok? Anyone had any problems getting them removed from the turnout framing?

I cut them off regularly, no issues.

I just make sure to cut of the ties and bar when it is set for the "opposite" of where you are holding that way when the switch rod is moved to the opposite end it doesn't have a chance to possibly get hung up on the spacer bar that is on the headblocks.
