I imagine there was a nightcap or two for you, too, there.

I remember trapping some beaver on a camping trip once, but that's another topic...

Not much for me.  Took a trip to the beach with my sweetie, and on the way back took in the sights in a few of my favorite little towns on the lower shore...

The station in Pocomoke City has been restored, but it remains unused.

And good old Cassatt Tower at the swing bridge over the Pocomoke River.  Still sporting it's PC font sign.  The Conrail blue is fading, giving way to the older PC green, too.

As for modeling, not much.  Got a couple of the Atlas outside braced boxcars off the 'bay, and man are they SWEET.  Low over the bolsters, and beautifully detailed.  And, working doors!  Woot!  Two more worthy additions to the steam fleet.

I've got a batch of decoders to install tomorrow, so I can get them in the mail Tuesday, too.  (That means you Henry!)

Have a great and safe Memorial Day...

I might have some N stuff to post in a few hours but here is a night shot from the HO layout I have been helping with. I have spent the last month or so working on lighting in the neighborhood on the layout. It's just a warm up to doing the 3 city blocks of the downtown area.

Lee,

Is that fencing on the river beyond the tower? I know the seawall was falling in around the bridge on the P City side, but that kinda looks like they've closed the bridge off on the opposing bank, across from P City & Cassatt Tower.

I think what you are seeing is the bridge in it's rotated open position.

Ding Ding Ding!  Tony's the winner!  That is the bridge girder in the open position.  Recall that this is the main stem from the car floats to Norfolk all the way up to Newark, DE and Philadelphia beyond.  This bridge is the critical link between the two ends of the system.  The connection to the Virginia based Bay Coast Line is just down the road a piece.

Tony, the lighting effects in those images are stunning.  Ain't LED's great?  And ain't it great that you can buy them by the gross on ebay?

Yup, just recieved another 100 white 603's Thursday, shippped to the door for $10. At 10 cents a piece, I don't freak out when I drop one or cook it when I do something stupid and hook it up backwards. I just finished putting one in the I-1 I have been working on. After I finish up the SDN144 install, I will post pictures.

Hello, all,

I've been busy and will continue to be so.  Regardless, here's some model
railroading things to share.

Couple of weeks ago, had chance to re-visit Miniature Wonderland in Hamburg, Germany.

Here are a few photos of what's new and different since my last visit in November
of 2005  :-).

The new Switzerland exhibit:

view looking back at the entry level from where the people are in the photo

View from the railing in the above photo:

More incredible modeling:

You can see more photos at:

It is amazing to see the creativity
that is possible worldwide in model railroading.  Certainly, in my
humble experience, Miniature Wonderland in Hamburg, Germany is
among the best that I have ever seen of the large model railroad exhibits
worldwide.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

Jesus, that control room at Wunderland would, quite literally, rival that found at most real railroads.  That thing's insane.

John,
That place amazes me every time I see it.

Here is my N scale shot for the weekend. I finally wrestled the Digitrax Sound decoder in the tender of the I-1. I have a sound project already started with the PRR Banchee whistle and chuffs from a recording of an I-1 I stumbled across online.

I also shot a video of my son's NTrak train power, a mishmash of an CEFX SD45 (in SP colors still), NYSW SD70, and a CFE GP38-2. They are all I&O power that he and I have seen run around here. The SD70 has an MRC sound board with some tweaks. I didn't get it edited yet though. I should post it tomorrow night. It was shot just to prove that you can lash up a consist of sound and non sound units and make it work.

Now it's time for bed. The shop is open tomorrow and I have to work.

I've made some headway finally wrapping up a kitbashed Z scale firehouse. Nearly done...

I really like the station, but man those fire trucks look like bumpercars. I'm not a Searails fan. This is why.

Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

I agree about Searails. But since the firehouse is directly across from another building, about all you'll see is a little flash of color.

Put up the first two sections of 4 for one side of the train room:

Hope to get the other two sections done this week, ran out of 2x6s,
