Complete with molded-on grabirons, cut levers, and windshield wipers!    ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, I might wait for FVM to release this scheme....

Another point: it could be tricky to match factory paint to cover the shaved-off grabirons on something like this (esp. with little/no weathering).  So the options would be (a) wait for an FVM, or (b) custom-paint either an FVM or a Kato.  Even for option (b), an FVM seems like less work.

I haven't heard of anyone deciding to wait for the Katos.

I am waiting on the Kato, maybe there CSX one will be correct because the FVM ones is not.

Couldn't agree with you more.  However, if you model modern CSX you gotta have them as every other train seems to have one.  I can't tell the difference in them even if you point out the minor differences.  Kinda like the old F units - they all look alike.

P.S.

The F units at least have some personality to them.

You truncated what I said: "I haven't heard of anyone deciding to wait for the Katos in order to get molded-on grabirons."

Are you waiting because you want molded on grabirons or because you want a correct CSX?

And you can only do that if you model that particular road.

...Or the 700 series BNSF C44-9W's.

I love Kato models but I never get over the bizzare choices they make...

Kato is vindicated!

I want correct CSX.

So is it fair to say that an FVM with a correct CSX scheme would be acceptable to you?

My only point is that most folks would still be willing to buy the models even if they lack the molded-on grabirons.  But for folks who like to do detailing, the absence of the molded-on grabirons is a big plus.   So there really isn't much reason for Kato & others to keep making models with the molded-on grabirons.

Correct wide front and rear handrails, three vent DB, low number boards,  and Self-steering trucks. FVM only has two of this, the trucks and numberboards . So I wait for the Kato ones since I realy don't care if it already has the molded grabirons or not.
