Mark, that's not a picture of a GEVO.

Ok, I guess the model, #5719 isn't either? ???

Note the "indented" area behind the stanchion I'm asking about.

Here's 5719

Note BNSFs 30 pre-production ES44ACs were denoted AC400CWs by BNSF.

How about a picture with its two GE N world counterparts, Atlas CW40-8 and Kato AC4400 or -9.

I like the way the frame looks under the walkways and shell, something Atlas should take notes on. That horn looks great, could use those for a few of my big six axle locos. I also like the way it sits on the truck and the truck  detail. And the shell detail is outstanding. Really nice job.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

Front coupler looks whacked. What's up with that?

Looks like the box behind the handrail isn't set in enough...... I don't really like that.

All of these things (coupler - box hand rails) could be due to handling issues .. lets not jump to conclusions before we see more samples ..

I really like the cab side windows. Really nicely done there.

Lash,

Those are really nice shots - did you take those outdoors? If not, what kind of lighting - it really works! 8)

The coupler got "mishandled" by me and I didn't catch it before taking the photos. My bad.

The lighting is overhead florescents with a highlight light with a couple of orange gels off camera to the left and behind. Adds a little drama and highlights which looks great, but isn't necessarily the best for color correctness. The rear shot with the grabs installed on the loco are without the highlight light. I'll try and take a picture of the setup.

Jamie,

It's all good, as you know color changes as the ambient light changes (colors will appear different in morning light vs high noon, overcast vs dusk, etc).

In the second shot the lighting gives the effect of a late summer day where the sun is starting to chase the horizon.

I know nothing about these modern things, but that close-up of the hand rail... The stanchion doesn't look like it is touching the orange behind it. I bet that little hook that looks to go into a hole on the shell is the problem. Either the hole isn't there or it is filled with paint. Or you could just nip the hook off and I bet the rail would sit flat to the shell.

My two pennies.
