Trainfest 2009 Report

That's what I was going for Mike.  While the intercity cars were very common in the format that's been done (and done and done and done) us East Coasters are pining for those good old Reading/CNJ/WM (et al) dull old work a day commuter cars.  Alas, Talent, OR is a long way from Hillen or Hoboken!

They haven't shown the coach(es) yet.  I'm all for a good MTL bashing session, as you know, but that was a little out in left field even for me.

I was a little fuzzy last night when I posted this up and forgot a few things. I edited the original to include the Athearn LPG and the AYA laser cut stuff. Sorry if I left anyone out or forgot something.

I'm hopeful, because last time it came up, Joe indicated that they have a modular tooling that would allow for a lot of varieties, and seemed pretty open to doing the single-window arrangement.  The question of car length is open, though...  The WM's cars were pretty much all 75' for instance (1914 vintage) except for baggage, mail and office cars.

I suppose the point of the point is to let him know that we're still out here, and keep the candle in the window!

Those LPG tankers look great and make me feel all tingly inside. I know thay are likely post 1987-89 era, but I don't care too much... beggars can't be choosers.

No worries.  Coffee cures everythning, right?
Do you know if there's a website for the AYA stuff?  That coal Barge dock looks like a good kitbash for me for a similar transfer facility I need (but not until sometime next year . . . )

The Green House is called Briarwood House and the white one is called Wildwood House. The white garage is the Wildwood Garage (sold separately) and the green garage is the Briarwood Garage. Their product flyer lists the coal barge as Barge Coal Dump.  The flyer also lists four more houses and another garage too be announced, but no photos.

I understand that there are signs hung up in the Trainfest exhibhition hall that say "The -2 Project". (I have a photo of one on my cell phone that was sent to me from the floor). Anyone have a guess at this one?

I bought the AYA Wildwood house (the white one on the left) at last year's Trainfest and it was a great kit to build.  I'll have to check out the new one on the right.
