Ah, yes... Victor's current whipping-boy, the 2-6-6-2. Nothing a re-motoring couldn't fix.  ;D

ooof.
let me know how much your re-motoring improves it.

Hi C855B,

the 2-6-6-2 is pretty bad and the motor is only one of its many flaws.
Since you seem to think the motor is flawed,
consider that is the same one in the  'J' and heavy mountain
and the FM thing bachman did.

victor

Notice the smiley in that. I was just ribbing you.

I'm not concerned about the 'J'. I think the 2-8-8-2 motor bug was likely a batch issue specific to that production run.

the ooof was my reply to the joke....
I doubt many would see your humor....

I feel I have to add one more thing.
the motor in the 2-6-6-2 is not the biggest problem in that loco.

victor

Are memories so short? Wasn't it "Botchmann" who gave us the much-praised 44-tonner? Or am I am mistaken?

Complete with FAT hood. I never got too excited about it because of this. If I can get one cheap I'll paint one up for VGN.

Leave it to the local gentry here to turn a Trainfest thread into a blast of another mfg.... Bachmann.... Oh, I know how dare they mess up; have weak motors; make fat hoods and all that........they deserve another blast, and they should thank us for it............does anyone wonder why we get jack crap in annoucemements at Trainfest.......maybe it's the support we give .....but how could I forget; we must have perfection; as defined by specific members of the local gentry.............I know; I know; Puddington is defending the "imperfect" again........go ahead; blast away................

Maybe we can stay on topic.....as slim as it might be.............and let's hope some day there will be enough thick skinned guys to weather our arrows so we can have more than Fox Valley's projects to tear apart........................

Go ahead........................ :-X

I'm with Pudd, start a new thread to bash Bachmann, let's steer this topic back to its original heading... So it's nearly 5 on Sunday in Milwaukee, the show's wrapping up right, and the only real new product announcement is FVM's Hiawatha? Where's more beef?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Charlie Vlk gave a decent writeup over on the Atlas board for those of you who haven't read it.

Talk about a let down; outside of the Hiawatha, no real N scale announcements. At least my wallet is safe for another day.

Do you wheely want to get into a bickering match about copying other manufacturers?
