...except that the vast majority of images in the thread resided on now-nuked hosting sites.

Re upload them to the gallery!

It's a good move selling the JD.

If it ever comes about that Dave does another N-scale layout he can start with a clean slate.

Over the last few years the JD seemed to create more frustration than joy.

It did.  It was 90s layout design thinking with 90s track components...trying to stay relevant to an owner with bigger dreams than the layout's size and design could ever provide.

Tonight the JD was loaded into a vehicle and will leave my possession first thing in the morning.  Pics tomorrow...bedtime tonight.

My train room seems a little bigger now.  Kinda sad but at the same time it's good to know it'll be in good hands.

So Eric came to pick it up along with the B60b?

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

The Railwire Express Agency car rolls through familiar territory...

My wife took a few quick last shots...

And then it was time...

The layout is now bound for California!

*Sniff!*

Eric seems to be the collector of Railwire-specific N Scale history...

It'll be in good hands.  Someone who knows and loves Pennsy at least as much as I do.  Most importantly, your amazing model of Lewistown depot remains in Railwire hands.

California?!
So it would seem Eric's dream of having a transcontinental Pennsy is getting realized; this is one way of getting Pennsy rails to the west coast :P
Where in California, Eric?

I think he also has Lee's paper warehouse and power plant from the paper mill.

I KNEW it.   ALL ALONG this had him written all over it.

The secrecy.  The dramatic reveal.

He was my first guess.
