Ending up working on Saturday, which stinks, but paid off a couple of ACe's  ;D

Picked up some shelves from Dad and installed them in the built-in wardrobe in the study/trainroom. Spent some time last night unpacking the empire from boxes from last year's move... and decided the house wasn't built with big enough wardrobes.  ;D
Looks like some of it will have to stay in boxes, which is ok. Will spend some more time in there this week, pack up all my uni texts and clear the workbench ready for some action.

Haven't done anything on the layout for a couple of months but I did finish 10 coal hoppers I got from a buddy up in Maine. Started them two months ago and just finished decaling them last week, need some weathering now.

Very nice photo's.... wow !

Not a productive week although I managed to weather and detail a second Bachmann H16-44....

Once that was done I couldn't resist a all CLC-FM run with a long TOFC consist - a Life Like C Liner and the two Bachmann's in DC mode run well together.. and the Bachmann's are "soubd equiped"... that is to say that they growl just like and FM unit ...LOL

Sorry for the crappy pic; the Nikon is in the shop so this was the "family camera's best effort".....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Still going through the camera-car footage from John's open house, looking for anything worth posting.

I've notice before how one can overlook massive glitches during recording, that render a chunk of video entirely unsuitable for later use. :(

I did a few things this week.  First, I painted the walkway on my SD9 the correct colors.  It was more involved than I thought it would be.

I also finished a project that's been languishing in the drawer for a long time.  This airslide has a new scratch built roof painted to match the picture of it in the WM color guide.  It also has etched steps, a thinned roofwalk and body-mounted couplers.

Here it is next to a stock model.

The model still has some foibles, but at least it looks decent now with its new roof!

Spent most of the week reading that gevo thread. ::)

I also started work on the road underpass scene on the right hand end of the layout. The glue shell hill and road base is all I've got so far.

And did this for fun.

Also my attempts to save up for a C&O geep were foiled by summer vacation spending. ::)

-ripped out old yard/benchwork
-leveled and repaired old benchwork to prepare for new yard (NKP Bellevue, OH)
-installed new benchwork to essentially double the real estate of my yard
-installed benchwork of 2nd level above old yard for storage and a NKP Rocky River, OH scene

amazing what you can get done with prior proper planning...

this week will be some minor benchwork (bracing) and wiring (just the main bus) and dcc panels...

now i need to get track laid (at least the main line) in time for a mid july Club meeting... it would be nice to have trains running for that...

nothing like a deadline for inspiration.

Ugh!  All those cats!  Making me sneeze! :P

I just finished burning my CD to send off to Pam at N scale.  I had fun preparing this article, but it was pretty grueling work.  I can share a couple of the test shots I pulled off, but you'll have to shell out a few bucks when the next issue comes out to see the rest!

Happy Monday, Everyone!

Envirodude: Think I need you to build me a layout  :)

Here is proof that I re-started the harbor layout:

I wussed out on building all the turnouts and finished up with Atlas #5's.

And here is my progress on trying out a real paintjob.

And did this for fun.

That is phenomenal scenery e-dude.  Too bad it's spoiled by the disco paint scheme on that loco, but still phenomenal.

I put the finishing touches on a spine set and some trailers.  Still have to seal the weathering and install trucks. Hopefully some photos later this week if time permits.

I gotta agree.  Really good colors and textures, and good atmosphere.   What is the backdrop/sky?
