Do we know if they're the AC or DC versions of the GEVO? Or both??

From the picture's of the two locomotives side by side, it looks like they are doing both. You can't really tell by the roads the announced because three of them have both.

I like what I see so far but I would like to know if they are doing the low number board, 3 dynamic brakes fans, and wide end handrails.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

So is that really Kato's Surprise announcement? Not exactly the NYC everybody was thinking of.

Bryan, thanks for the pictures! The MTL RPO looks very nice.

Kato beat Con Cor on that one of a kind.  Simplicity at it's finest.  Take a RDC and add a jet engine.

Another money saver from Kato...

That's pure fun !!!!!! - More people will get one of the Jet RDC's "just because"...... cool !
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

That is the first hint I have seen of a lightweight observation car from Intermountain.
Any more information?

Thanks Bryan for the pictures!  That RDC does have a coolness factor to it, though I'm surprised Kato would do something like this.

And I see that IM still doesn't know where an EMD turbocharger goes. ???

As I recall the regular Kato RDC can move at jet speeds, so no redesign of the chassis is necessary.

Well, a lot of folks were excited about the Athearn SP caboose. From the pics, what are your guys thoughts???

I can tell you first hand and remember I model NP and MILW in the 60's, that caboose was spectacular.

Only that it is in development, along with some other types such as diners, coaches, etc.  They had a slideshow running on the screen of various digital renderings.

Forgot to add - the M-497 is DCC-equipped with sound, including the jet engine roar and LEDs at the rear of the jet engines simulating ignited rocket fuel that react based on the throttle position.
