Here's the last of the New York City Transit Authority. Some "work equipment" at the materials yard in Brooklyn taken in August, 1960.
NYCTA 1647 and 1657 acting as work train locomotives. This type were the original wooden BMT subway cars. Note that this pair have trolley poles. The TA restored some of these in 1960 to replace the open-ended Myrtle Ave. el cars. The were over a half century old already.
NYCTA (ex-BRT 9421), an open-ended box motor, still carries a basket fender. Basket fenders were obsolete by 1930, so one really has to wonder how long it had been since 9421 turned a wheel.
NYCTA 7, a standard GE steeplecab, on an idle work train. Note it is equipped with trolley poles and third rail shoes as well as AAR and Tomlinson couplers. The switch stand lantern sure looks like the markers on the old el cars.
Next week, electric freight, the Niagara Junction Railway - a freight only line under wire.

Any idea who the owner used to be? It's currently sitting in Hill City, SD.

My wife spotted and old RI car on our way to Manitou Springs. You have to look hard, it's right in the middle.
It's an old outside braced caboose. I'm going to go over and see if I can get permission to take some photos.

Bob, awesome stuff there.
As for me, I have been loading stuff onto Picasa,( which I am a complete fan of now) so here is smattering of photos from all over the place.
A CSX empty coal train in Charlottesville VA.
An old C&O herald on a bridge in Waynesboro VA.
An NS train boils in Charlottesville.
We now go to California were this BNSF stacker shoots east in the Mojave desert.
And another BNSF stacker heads west in Yampai AZ.

Since we're all C&O today, here's a caboose only three numbers removed from the one Bob shot all those years ago. This one is on display at Meyersdale, PA next the WM station along the Allegheny Trail. Obviously, someone didn't do their homework...
And a couple more cabooskis...
One for Eric P, located in Cape Charles, VA...
B&O at Grafton, WVa
PRR at Gallitzin, PA
and WM at Hagerstown, Maryland

There are 3 cabeese on Rt 30 northbound before you get to Chambersburg,PA, located on an old PRR right of way. Next time I'm up there I'll have to take some pics. Believe there all ex PRR.
