Back to the Brooklyn of over a half century ago and the first PCC cars built...

About halfway to Coney Island on the McDonald Ave. line there was a turnback loop with the remians of an interlocking tower. PCC 1040 is parked there on Oct. 13, 1956.


Another view of the turnback loop and PCC 1040. For most of its distance, the McDonald Ave. line operated under the NYCTA's Culver Line elevated structure.


PCC 1072 at the 39th St. Ferry Terminal loop on the Church St. line. The ferries had not run for many years so this was a lonely area. Photo taken March 3, 1956.


Next week, we'll still be in Brooklyn on the Church Street line.

I hope by "house money" you mean chips furnished by the casino and not monies intended for your mortgage payment!  ;D ;D ;D
