I've wanted this for a long time, and even tried to raise cash to have a shell made in N scale.  These look promising.

"completely new model" ?  Didn't they make this model back when their SW-1 came out? Both were made by Roco and ran very well.

Yes, back in 87 or 88.  But I bet the new one is completely different from a tooling point of view.

The model was first made in HO by the John English Co., now known as Bowser, back in the 1950's. So, models of F-M H10-44's have been around almost as long in HO as they were on the prototype.

I never had the old model, but I did have a Walther's HO SW-1, it was a pretty sweet locomotive.

I'll have to get one to model the last one in revenue service to run at the Beaufort Christmas show.
