It was on my list to try and scratch build. Then someone over on Atlas was asking for a small crane. I posted the plan and a few liked it so I figured it would be something Bob could sell more that one of.

This is great for me and I hope other like it. While not an exact match, you can see one similar in the photo on this page:

I'm sure with a little work you could make the whole crane travel on two rails.

PRR had a very similar one just North of the old depot on Calvert Street in Baltimore. Only time I ever saw it used was when PRR donated the remaining N6b's in Baltimore to the Boy Scouts for camp cabins.

Yeah, if anyone finds them, I've been looking for while and would love to them. Been meaning to get into Baltimore and really photograph the hell out of the in Canton.

Another need N has is for a chip loader, ala the Walthers one they refuse to make in N. Also a rotary dumper.

It was still standing as of February of this year... Not sure how long it will last, I think the freight house is already gone, or will be soon.

Holy Smokes!  I stumbled across this on eBay...

It looks like that crane in York dates to 1918, and was a "coal hoist!"...

Here are a few shots I got today when I was out of a crane at Arlington Iron Works.  I have more photos and higher resolution if you want let me know and I'll send them to you via email.  There a re two cranes there and I didn't get a lot of photos but more then I posted here.  I plan to return one day and get more when I start to build my crane.

used to make hot metal cars here.

That's Youngstonw OH right can you get more of the Mcdonal steel one that's a great crane.
The one I got photos of is located in Manassas va.  Not sure why they are called Arlington steel, never did find out yet.  Maybe one day when I'm kicked off the property they'll tell me
