Rich - nice shots of course! But what did you use for those bushes/trees on the hillside? It looks very fine and leafy - really nice!Lou
I tried the Tom Mann white wash technique to fade the paint, only I put it on too thick. It looked like a frosted cake. I tried to remove the paint gently with some brush cleaner, with predictable results. The factory paint lifted right off.

OK...I grabbed my July/August 2004 N Scale Railroading and am studying from the Master. If I weren't such a tool I'd have read that article first, but lo, I am a tool.Ryan, looks great! Wish I could do that!
That PC/CR boxcar is interesting - 1 1/2 doors - but look at the "Roller Job" on the "PENN CENTRAL". Looks like the DOOR WAS OPEN when they did it - because the "TRAL" didn't get painted over.
I have to agree with Rich & Tom that an Airbrush is the way to go.I use just enough paint to fill the bottom of the jar with the rest being thinner. (essentially dirty thinner)than spraying very light coats letting them dry in between. (until it doesn't look wet anymore)One warning is to be sure to seal the fade before handling the model too much.
