Nice!  SD9-3's don't have SD60 anti-climbers, they're large dash 2 anti-climbers.

As for Silver, I've been using Testors silver, it seems to look better to me.  I buy the rattle cans.

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the tips, I was sorta wondering about the anti-climber.
I'll have a look for some testors sets (we don't get testors much in NZ let alone in separate bottles)
The trucks are Atlas's std paint job for UP - cause I hacked up a UP one  ;D ;D They'll be heavily weathered as per this one:

You've got some very nice projects done and underway Josh!!

Thanks.  I'm always impressed by the work you N scale guys do, too tiny for me!

My new Chuck pack arrived this morning  ;D ;D so this evening I ....err got my knife out and started cutting.

Yep a BN/ BNSF style GP15-1 from an Atlas GP15-1, dynamic brakes have been cut off an the blower duct removed. A smaller duct will be fabricated and added along with lots of louvres.

Good work! :)

As soon as it's done Mark will no doubt release his replacement hoods. ;)

An MP15 shell might be useful there, it has quite a few louvre sections you could reuse.

The SD24 shells are nice too.

Some slow progress on a ATSF B39-8 (not BNSF)

yep the sill has a bend in it because the styrene at the rear is slightly too tall. Will fix that when the glue has cured.

Ripped into a GE C44-9W SP to modify it to BNSF 5028 (Phase 2b Dash 9):

I still have to chop out the rear end and replace it with one from an AC4400CW and several panel modifcations (X panels from brass) and relocating the dynamic brake grill. Then put those darn small lift rings on - mutter mutter....... ;D
I've left the cuts rough for the pictures so that the way I cut the battey box things out from the donor SP cab and relocated them into a AC4400CW cab (having previously cut out those battery box thingys).

Start how many? Finish how many ? Sounds like the soundtrack here! :)

The B39 looks good, but those removed doors etc need a bit more sanding methinks.

On principle I can't condone the Dash 9. ;)

There's only 9 posted here Simon ;D ;D, I've done quite a few others that aren't here.........honest!! ;D
I'm only using the SP Dash 9's because that's all Kato has produced in this phase, er umm did you see the other Dash 9 near the beginning of this thread - that was SP 8116 :o . It's now resplendent in BNSF H1 paint. You can't have seen what I did to a SP tiger stripe NW2 ? I could post what i have leftover  8)

Yeah I will be adding putty to the shell - trying to work out the correct doors - BLMA ones don't seem quite right for this.

GP15-1 is halted because  :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X

Hope all is well in the snowy UK - All the best for the New Year!
