Kato GS-4 Daylight Photos

I snapped a few quick shots last night as people are probably anxious to see more photos. I'm in the middle of taking the GS-4 apart on an exploratory mission to install a Tsunami Micro in it.

Photo album can be found HERE

Couple of teaser shots:

I'll add Big Boy shots to Chuck's existing thread... :)

(a quick note about color - the Daylight color scheme is difficult to photograph consistently and reproduce properly. The colors are very close in the photos, but there may be some variation. All the models are consistent in color matching including the loco).

Keep us posted on the sound installation please.  A few installation photos would be most welcome.

Your photo quality is awesome!
Best regards,

Roger

Those are magnificent pix!

Standard shots from a camera? (IE no software manipulation?)

I used Helicon software for the macro shots as depth of field would be a major issue. As far as correction, only for exposure and slight color tweak to make sure they were close to what the real model looks like.

I saw the 10 car set today and it is indeed beautiful.  The paint might be a little think.  If their locomotives had not been all pre-ordered, I might have bought one set on impulse.

I've spent a number of hours testing GS-4's over the last few days. I have to say this is probably the best looking, smoothest running steam loco I have ever seen in N Scale. It is so quiet you almost cannot hear the motor.

I have to admit, I was skeptical at first, but now would have no problem recommending this loco to anyone. I think the paint and detail are just fine.

What kind of trucks are those? They arn't the ordinary Commonwealth I'm used to.
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

It's a pre-war triple-bolster truck.  Has the "bell" journals, sometimes refered to as Napoleon's Hat.  Pullman designation 43-R.

<rainmain quote>"It's a 1949 Buick Roadmaster. Straight 8. Fireball 8. Only 8,985 production models. Dad lets me drive slow on the driveway. But not on Monday, definitely not on Monday. I'm an excellent driver."</rainman quote>
