#5 Atlas C55 turnouts have narrow flange ways that the gauge won't go through. The #7's are fine. To fix the #5's I just run a cut off wheel along the insides of the flanges till the gauge clears. It's not hard at all, but is easier to do before you install them while still holding in your hand.

#5s Tight against NMRA standards is what I heard. I heard this was on early production only though.
