PRR Eastern Region - Timonium Show

As has been noticed by a few forum members... the PRR Eastern Region is coming down, for reasons to be revealed in a future issue of The Keystone Modeler (emag of the PRRT&HS).

I will continue to have a hand in N scale, and Merchandise Service will absolutely continue to champion N scale products, but I will not be modeling in N scale. I look forward, however, to maintaining the many wonderful relationships I have developed through N scale.

For those within range of Timonium -- whose show is just three weeks away -- you may want to visit my layout web site at http://jbritton.pennsyrr.com . (That keeps sale info off this forum!)

Wow, Jerry.  That's a big shift.  I hope the transition is due to some good news.
I wish I was in a better position to help you out with some of that, but I've been up against the wall for the last few months.

You don't suppose anyone would be interested in those WM F units taking up space, do you? ;D

I'm glad I got to see the layout last summer.

It was quite an undertaking.  I can almost understand wanting to make a change... I mean you are literally up to your eyeballs in PRR N scale!

You just had to post a pic of those PC units on my bridge, didn't you?  :o

BTW, will be selling the bridge as a module.

I couldn't think of a more appropriate way to signal the end of the PRR era... ;D ;)
If and when I ever take down my layout, I'll probably celebrate by buying a Chessie wreck train... :-\

Track and switches for sale also?

Yes. Since it's not removed yet I hadn't included it in the list. If you are interested in quantities, please e-mail me off forum ( jerry@pennsyrr.com ) and I can probably "fill" orders on a case by case basis.

I've never even seen your layout in person, Jerry, but this is like losing a friend! :(

I can't make Timonium (my wife has to work that weekend), but I think my dad will be coming down from New York...  I'll send him your way with a shopping list!  I just wish the ol' bank account could spare enough for one of your brass DCC Pennsy steamers.

FWIW, when I first discovered your site I thought "geez, that guy's got nards...  Even if I had the space, time, and money, trying to reproduce full-scale operations on the Pennsy main would quickly overwhelm me."  Although I've done ops on other layouts and had a few 2-man op sessions on my tiny home layout, I'm more of a lone-wolf railfan type.  So I was (and am) in awe of what the Eastern Region set out to achieve.

So, does this mean next year we'll see shots of an HO scale York Haven line? ;D

Not enough to do on the York Haven Line... it's nearly all run-through and no switching.

BTW, the ops never got too complicated for me; always enjoyed it.

Wow...things DO become interesting. In the latest TKM, it was announced that Greg Martin was ending his reviews of HO and larger models in TKM. Jerry was helping him by reviewing the N scale models. Looks like TKM will now have to start from scratch finding reviewers!  :(

Too bad us SPF's in other parts of the country won't have the opportunity to acquire any of your collection, Jerry.

Wow Jerry, I had heard rumors, but I didn't think they were true.

So, you gonna pick up Conrail now?

No, no Conrail, Ed!

This has nothing to do with choice or railroad, era, size of layout, level of operations, moving, etc.  :-X

Absent from the list above is "choice of scale."  I'm thinking Jerry's going to become Horribly Oversized! :o

I guess the K4s and E6s finally got to you. Watch Bachmann anounce them this year. I'm sorry Jerry.... so much time and money involved. I coulden't stand switching scales. I'll get my eyes Lasic-ed ten times before I switch.
