Hello Everyone.
Does anyone know of a good book, videos, DVD's or web site for doing winter scenes?
Not just snow, but ground cover, bair trees, ice, dead weeds, etc.
Thanks

If you live up north, take a look out the window. Then take everything off the layout that doesn't look like what you see.

Lee;
The problem with that is here in St. Louis, Missouri the weather changes so much that the seasons don't last long enough to photograph. Heck, I've got roses trying to stick their heads out of the leaves I put over them for protection from the
cold winter
weather.

No books that I know of, but you might want to look at Lance Mindheim's articles in
Model Railroader
of July 2001, July 2003 and May 2004. Lance was an N scale master of winter scenery. (He now models South Florida in HO.)

Look back in the archives, Ed K has done some pretty nice winter trees and ground cover.

Not books that I know of but Rand Hood did an amazing series on winter modeling in 1996 in MR.

His Rio Grande layout is pretty good.
