SW1 - BN 81

Quite a while ago I got one of Randy's SW1 shells. I was going to put it on  a LL  SW8/9 mechanism but Kato came along with the NW2. I just recently finished carving up a Kato NW2 (SP Tiger Stripe  :o )  to fit under Randy's shell.
I thinned the Kato mechanism by 1mm each side and followed Randy's chop thread.

I then kitbashed Randy's shell and put on the Kato cab so I could use the glass and lightboard etc. The LED was moved back as per Randy's thread. I also chopped off the front of the hood and glued the NW2 one on then glued the SW1 tool box back on. I also added a battery box door thing on the cab side from BLMA.
I will be putting a decoder in in the future.

So here it is in Primer awaiting it's BN Green and Black paint. I will be adding BN specific details as per the prototype.

I have about 5 more Kato NW2's to buy to err eumm chop up for other projects - keep 'em coming Chuck  ;D ;D

cheers

Alister

Here's the link  to Randy's modifications. Mine basically follow his except I had to narrow the sides by an additional 1 mm per side.
