Model Railroader subscription ?

For about 3 months now my old subscription ended and I've been running down to Borders to get my monthly fix since. I go to re-new at Trains.com and see it is $43.00, but I remember those cards for around $35. I don't have a card so I searched online and found this:

What am I missing here?

Kalmbach does not condone ANY 3rd party subscription services.  Check the blow-in cards in your recent copies of MRR,  they seem to be running about $39.95.  I just sent in a "Please Reconsider" card for $29.95 that they mailed to me.  Maybe they've figured out that  their customer base is eroding....

Yeah, for all the bashing MR takes, I still think it's a good read...

I buy MR and Trains in the LHS when they have articles that interest me. Have not subscribed in 10 years or so.

They sent me one of those $29.95 forms. I signed up. Big savings from the $5.50 per month.

The price of MRR since the October issue is now $5.95 so even more savings.
