This is great! :)

and I am now looking forward to a release that doesn't interest me so I can piss on other people's parade.

...the negativity here is really getting on my nerves. >:(

If you chose to model a railroad that doesn't get good manufacturer support...tough beans! If you want to swim against the tide, accept that it won't be easy.

Could it be Conrail SD40-2's????

It will NEVER happen. Kato may slap blue paint and can openers on a SD40-2 someday, but they will never make one that's correct for Conrail.

I wouldn't think so either - but - this was specifically brought up by Kato as an example of the future direction of the SD40-2 product to several people at last year's NTS - before the ATSF and BN specific SD40-2's came out...
So you never know???

That'd be cake next to adding hi-noses!  ;)

The moral of the story is we should all switch to easy to model immensely popular roads instead of modeling what interests us. I'm switching to UP.

of course I find most roads interesting in some way, shape, or form

Oooh, ooh, can I model UP?

All I'd need are 1000000 Kato SD70macs.

Not quite, the moral is if you want to get something from new from Kato, model something popular. If you'd rather model something you're interested in...don't moan when Kato doesn't make what you'd like.

Oh and the high noses are very easy, just order what you need from Mark4 and hit with black spray! ;)

I really don't think most Americans or Canadians would consider the Algoma Central to be an Eastern road!

B&O had large tenders on its P-7s and rebuilt P-1s.  That takes care of the sound/DCC; the latter for those who use DCC.  The Capitol Limited was a famous train.

Everyone who likes trains has two favourite railroads:  The Baltimore and Ohio and one other.  EXCEPTION:  If the Baltimore and Ohio is already your favourite road, you have only one favourite railroad.

Q.E.D., You can put sound into an average sized steam locomotive and put it in front of a popular train that will sell.

Dear Mr. Kato:  Please announce this as soon as possible, thank you and have a nice day.

Has Kato ever heard of B&O?
