Steve, there are one man car movers that look like a large automobile jack - they are placed under one wheel and pumped, moving the car a few inches, this is repeated to move the car further. You can move a car ten feet in about 15 minutes, enough for one man to move a different outlet over a pit. These fit in the back of a pickup.
Believe it or not, I've used one. One of those deals where, with a big grin, they hand it to the new kid and everyone stands around waiting to see what happens next. By knowing what it was for and how to use it I kind of surprised them I think. Using it effectively was another matter. A tough way to move a loaded coal hopper.
I've been to the site twice and both times multiple cars were present and coupled together. The wheels on the conveyor lead me to believe it moves and not the cars.
