A Small Challenger Problem

So far I am overwhelmed by the quality of the Challenger. I do however have one small problem that is bugging me. First, I can only program it on the main and second, I cannot get the bell rate to change from the slowest speed and cannot change the sound to see what the other bells are like? I can change the chaff and the whistles and the volume, but not the bell. I have a Digitrax Super Chief and a DT400 controller?
Any ideas?

Sound decoders typically eat up current. That's why you can only program on the main. Look through the DCC board over at the Atlas forum for the trick you can use with a resistor to get it to work on you programming track. It is also typical that you can't read back from sound decoders.
