Very nice! Is that the Gold Medal diagonal bracing?

Thanks, Gary! Yes, I used the Gold Medal product to build the end girders, as I had problems fitting the gussets to the Central Valley pieces.
I have completed the remainder of the diagonal bracing on the three trusses (two full packs of .020 x .040 strip):
Here's the start of the track/deck support on the closest truss. I epoxied some brass tubing to the H-beams for some reinforcement - can't have my Snowbirds falling into the river!
That's all for now. Hopefully my LHS will get my Kappler bridge ties soon!

That's going to be a damned fine scene when it's done. I've always wanted to model the Easton area, and I've been all over the bridge you're modeling, so I'll be following your progress closely!

Here's a quick update, as my Kappler ties have not arrived yet. On the Jersey side I need a through girder and a deck girder span. I started with the new Atlas bridge and expansion kit, but needed to narrow the track spacing to 1-1/16" or so. This pic shows the white strip styrene at the splice:
I also reinforced the bottom with more strip; just need to glue the top pieces on:
For the deck girder, I cut the sides off an old Atlas bridge and made matching sides from .020 sheet, with diagonal bracing from strip:
After a quick coat of black, I'm ready to start gluing on the ties.

My Kappler lumber arrived, and the bridge tie elves have been busy at my workbench (too bad Atlas doesn't have code 55 bridge flex in their line). The shorter spans have received a quick wash of Rail Tie Brown on the ties, but I think they need to be a little darker:

Wow, this thread is overdue for an update! With some rain over the weekend, I had a chance to grab a few pics. I'm happy to report that the bridge tie crew is done! A few washes of dark brown/burnt umber really look the part. Don't call me out for the unsightly tie ends in the middle - these will be covered by wood decking:
I also spent some time cutting and sanding some resin for the piers (thanks David Smith for shaming me into using resin). The funky structure on top represents concrete support for the Jersey spans; the taller pier in back will be in the river. The lighting sucks, but these are primed only and I hope a nice wash and dry brushing will really bring out the detail:
