I just completed the installation of an ESU Loksound 58923 decoder in an Atlas n scale Dash8-40B.  I made the speaker case to fit in a well at the rear by milling out the frame.  I removed any unneeded wires, and added a second wire to +V (blue and teal) for the lights.  The lights are 0402 white LEDs with a 2.2kOhm SMD resistor in series, soldered together.  The lights tuck under the clear plastic light pipes (friction fit) so the shell can be removed easily.  I cannot post a video as YouTube puts up too many barriers for me.  Sorry.
