Fantastic project Dwight! It’s really turned out nicely. Interesting how the red light becomes not red in videos. I’ve suffered the same. So I totally believe your light is red!

This is a common problem with LEDs. The very small bright spot of light produced by the LED overloads the camera's image sensor, making it appear as white (sometimes with a halo of the actual color).
