Bachmann Spectrum N&W aux water tender, all black

I picked up one of these a few years ago and don't even remember where I got it. It's the short all black that goes behind the Y6 and A type engines. Shorter then the type the J uses.  It has working lights at either end that come on very dimly at the same time.  Since I had directions with this tender can someone shed some light on it for me. Is there a way to program it with an engine or what  ? I opened it up and there is a board in the with the LEDs at each end.    Any info would be helpfull,

Thank you

Brief comment, in revenue service, the J class did not use aux tenders (611 did use a "kitbashed" aux tender in excursion service).

I have several of the Bmann 1950s black aux tenders (boxed up at the moment), but they are wired for DC. If you want the lighting to "follow" the loco, I think you would need to add a decoder.

I'm just trying to figure how to either turn them off or make them work in proper direction much like Scale Trains aux tenders work.

Like Mark5 mentioned, the light is hardwired to the track (for DC operation). If you want it shut off, cut the internal wires. If you want to control direction under DCC control - install a function-only decoder. Bachman never used function-only decoders in their tenders.

Ok, got it. I was being a little bit Forest Gump shall we say.  I'll cut the wires for now.   Thank you.
