MRH just casually dropped photos of the Atlas N Scale GP40-2W into their coverage:

Having pre-ordered one aeons ago I hope this means its soon to drain Mr. Wallet.

And those are S4s as well.

Of note for us here, first look at two Atlas releases - the upgraded Walthers PD5000 (@daniel_leavitt2000) and the newly tooled 3230cuft covered hoppers (@GaryHinshaw).

FML

I literally worked on this upgrade on and off for close to 20 years. Less than two years after I completed my first (incorrect) model, boom.
I hope they add the air supply lines. The underbody needs more plumbing.

John, don't get me wrong, I do appreciate all your hard work. I don't think Atlas would have done anything with this model if I didn't push them hard since getting the Walthers tooling. I also think they may have made the decision after seeing how well the models could look with some decent upgrades.

The project was cursed from the start - I think you were the 3rd or 4th contactor I went though. In the end, I have some pretty nice cars.

That is my sad-face for you, I know you did not mean anything bad and that you tried for sol long.

And yet, despite, this no one has yet offered a completely correct GMD SD40-2 . . . . .

Should also mention that ScaleTrains announced the AC4400CW in HO at the show, which means between that and the SD40T-2 they hold the future happiness of all late-era Espee N scale modellers in their hands...

This describes me. AC4400CWs would bankrupt me.

While I expect the AC4400CWs in N scale. I'm not holding my breathe for the Tunnel Motors considering what they have said on this exact board. I know I would want a Speed Lettered and Kodachrome for sure.
Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...
