Loco light question

I have a Kato F40PH Metra loco ready for installing an ESU LokPilot 5 micro and I want to use the Kato pc board.
This loco has lights only at the front but the board layout is for  rear lights as well. So I thought to install a LED and resistor for the rear and use one of the aux outputs to power the rear light.

Here is the board with markings where I already cut the contacts and the additional LED and resistor.

Left side forward LEDs -the white one is visible, the red one sits on the under side.
Right side back LED.

So far so good.
I thought to use the white cable to power the white LED and the yellow cable for red LED but I'm not sure how to do it and what else needs to be done.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Using the photo you included, I assume that the traces are cut at the red lines and LEDs/resistors are installed as shown on the photo.

Here is a wiring diagram.

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough in my initial post.

Yes, I cut the traces at the red lines.
Let's just say the white and red light are indicating if the loco is going forward or backwards. Both lights are on the left side of the pc board.

I should add a photo of the underside as well. Will do so later.

Right now it works like this:

If I power up the blue and white lines on the left side, the white LED is on.
If I switch the power, the red LED is on.

Here is the 'bottom' of the pc board.

This will of course all be isolated because it is the power pick-up from the copper stripes.

I'm afraid I need to cut some more traces so that the red LED is not connected to the white one anymore.

Ok, so the red LED is soldered on the other side of the board under the white front LED?
Looks like you have the wiring for white LEDs already figured out (same as what I came up with).

The holes in the board are plated with copper so they conduct electricity to the other side. Drill them out using a drill bit slightly larger than the original hole, to remove the plating.  You can use ohmmeter or continuity tester to make sure the connection is broken

In this case I would recommend to drilling out *ONLY* the single hole on the negative (cathode) side of the front white LED. Then solder the red LED in a way that places its anode on the same side of the board as the anode of the white LED on top.  That way you don't have to run the blue wire to the red LED.

Then add a resistor to the cathode side of the red LED, and connect the yellow wire to the resistor.  There might be room on the board to cut the trace and install the resistor, or add the resistor off-board, somewhere along the yellow wire.

That is for the red LED only on the front of the model.  If you want to install another red LED on the rear of the loco, just follow the same process as on the front.
