A friend of mine has a Bachmann 4F OO locomotive, that ran fine when bought new. He purchased the lokpilot 21pin decoder, which was a simple enough install (after finally figuring out how to open the tender). He later told me that the locomotive moved fine in reverse, but when moving forward there is a noticeable hum/noise coming from the motor. Is this something I’d fix by changing the CVs to increase the starting voltage?
