These *should* take an ESU 58741 board.

There are enough F outputs that you could run 0402's for ditchlights and another LED for the engine room light without much issue instead of using a light kit that will be on all of the time.

I'm still trying to figure out speaker size.

Interesting that Kato offset the motor location to allow for the "open look" between the side grilles. But wasn't the whole point to be able to see across the interior?  Seems that the view is blocked by a plastic piece.

I wish Bachmann did the same for their latest Spectrum DDA40X to show the daylight between the 2 loco halves.

The plastic piece is what represents the radiator. There is only a small sliver where you can see all the way through the locomotive.
