The Springs' local went to the ground a couple days ago.  Looks like the rails went out of gauge.

Went by yesterday and the locomotive was rerailed to the north side of the crossing, effectively trapped until the rails are repaired.  I'm going to check tomorrow to see if they bring in another engine.

This is an interesting part of Colorado Springs where the UP uses the old Rock Island line to then switch back onto the old Santa Fe line to switch the few lumber industries left.

I had to go up in the tower yesterday to check something at work and decided to look out the windows because I’m not up there frequently and saw the local returning from Elberton holding the main.
