My driveway still isn't cleared. I also cancelled a trip for side work tomorrow. I'm not going anywhere. I may have gone to the show had there not been a blizzard.

It’s odd that exhibitors canceled at the last minute using the weather as the reason, when we were supposed to be here and set up 24 hours before the storm hit anywhere on the east coast. As a result, the show director is changing the terms of exhibiting next year, of which we will be informed this coming week.

Did a lot of shopping and the vendors that did stick around kept bragging about the surprising amount of sales they got despite the low attendance.. Those guys who skipped loss I guess. Also thanks for the mill gondolas bryan.

We always have product for sale, and it was very surprising how strong sales were on Saturday given the weather conditions. The people who braved the storm obviously were determined to purchase product overall. Sunday appeared to be a typical show day. It seemed attendance was lighter than usual at times, but the aisles were twice as wide due to pandemic conditions and the number of exhibitors was significantly less.

I talked with Matt and he did show me a completed install in an E unit, without the shell on, and did mention a small amount of plastic would have to be removed from inside, but there is a lot of plastic there so no exterior difference. When they come in I will try it out.
Did not see the Atlas legacy board. That is extremely exciting for me, as I shouldn't have to mill those frames any more. Glad for that, I brought a U25B to run and I think the decoder failed because I didn't mill enough.

I have test fitted a Nano without it's adapter board on top of the current Kato Lightboard and there seems to be just enough space that the Nano can rattle.  I had been planning on trying to make a motherboard for the Nano in the E8 and PA anyway so I'm glad ESU has done so already.  It looks less expensive than I could probably have them made as well.

Given that the display showed a CAD drawing of the Atlas legacy board rather than a photo, I don't think it's as far along.  Probably because it's an actual decoder and might be subject to wait times for parts.

While I wish that ESU would make those dedicated decoders as single boards (which would make the assembly thinner), I also can see why they went they way they did: single decoders (micro and nano) with a universal connector to be snapped onto a variety of adapter boards.  It is likely cheaper to design and manufacture bunch of adapter boards than have multiple dedicated decoder boards.

I know the show fizzled, but did any manufacturers besides Kato ever make any new product releases?  Any new locos or car [size=78%]body styles coming from Atlas, Athearn anyone...?[/size]
