I know this is a long shot but I'm am in need of a Santa Fe Warbonnet with DCC/sound.  Something modern like a Dash 9.

If anyone has one they could part with or know where one might be for sale, I would appreciate it.

I think I seen one last weekend.

Though you will have to call and ask them, as they don't have a website to check.

I think I still have a couple of the original production Kato ATSF C44-9W warbonnets (#'s 653 and 669, IIRC).   They have neither DCC nor sound, tho probably can be converted.  Please PM if those could work for you.

I urge you not to get one. The rendering of ATSF silver is just plain awful. Mind you, ST may have been thinking you'll severely weather it, as they began to appear before repainting during BNSF days. In which case, the silver paint is a perfect platform to begin said weathering. But if you're after ATSF's as delivered silver, they were a disappappointment. Enough so that I was told the next run ST will brighten up the silver. (Don't hold them up next to other manufacturers ATSF silver, its shocking) You may want to wait for the next run. I sold all mine and am saving up for that.

But if you get an Atlas, Athearn, or perhaps a Kato. Youll be happier, silverwise.

You might be able to buy one of the recently released Kato SD70ms w DCC and sound and an old relase Kato ATSF Dash-9 off ebay and swap the shells and trucks.  The mechs are the same.  But it's possible there might be a shell fit issue over the speaker install.  Also of course the sound profile will be wrong, but maybe you can reprogram it.  (Or maybe you don't care.   )

Thanks for the responses guys.  Sorry I didn't chime in sooner but I couldn't open this thread while my kids were home on break.
