November MT Weathered releases

Guessing one or both of these might be popular with a lot of folks in here. Or lots of people in here will know if these are foobs or actually prototypical.

The CSX 4 pack looks interesting., but it's the ex Rock Island hopper I bet that sells out first.

More excellent work, @MTLJoe

I so wish MTL would re-do those exterior post box cars.

There are so many great schemes that I've skipped because of the squished body styles.

I love their other retooled other 50' cars (I think I've gotten at least half a dozen in the past year), and wish these were the same quality.

I'll pick up the Rock covered hopper if it shows up at my store. It does look nice, in a rather dilapidated way.

Agreed... Has anyone compared them to a 5077 to see how close they actually are? They might be close enough to match the earlier cars. Unfortunately most of the schemes produced are 5277 prototypes...

Same issue with the gondolas... I keep finding 48-50 foot prototypes, but Micro-trains mostly makes schemes appropriate to ~53' cars...

Oh man, I'd LOVE a re-tooled gon too!

I almost skipped the Conrail tie crane set because of them, but decided it was special enough to do the work to at least lower the cars.

I like that recent B&O gon set too, but I've held off because it's not quite special enough to add that project to the backlog for.

It took me a good minute to realize they were trying to say 'TURKEY' on that ROCK Car..

I kept reading it TU ROCKY

You're not alone.  I first saw "TuRnKey" before I realized it was "TuRKey."

I thought it was a reference to a small island off the Florida coast, Tor Key.

Yeah I did a few years ago and the end corrugations don't match right. I think there were other issues as well but don't remember.

The FVM cars have the correct proportions.  The visual difference is significant.

The crane will fit on the BLMA gons, which are of the correct length and proper ride height.

No argument there... I'm interested in comparing the MT cars to the plate B 5077 cars (made in N by Atlas) not the 5277 cars made by FVM and Athearn/MDC.

Purely an academic exercise, but interested none the less...

I'm still hopeful that we will get a properly proportioned Greenville or Bethlehem gondola in N scale. There is no accurate riveted 53' gon for US roads in N and they are the two most common prototypes.

Yeah, I know. But the MTL weathering jobs and tie loads were just so nice that I'm living with it for now.
