With all the earlier discussion about the hood width has anybody measured and cheeked against the 1:1 hood yet?  Just saying . . .

Chris, does anything you just posted mention the hood width?   I can access Train-board without logging in.  Or was your post not related to my question?

I'm showing 8.53mm on the long hood width.

Somebody might want to quote this, as I expect Peteski is blocking me. (as I am him)

I don't know how it stacks up against the prototype.   I moved to Z in part because the rivet counting isn't as robust in Z.   I think AZL's SW1500s look really, really good.   And there are plenty of photos out now to decide if one thinks they look too wide, dimensions be damned.

I'm not blocking Doug (he contributors useful info to the forum - I have no reason to block him - seems childish to do that), but he won't see my reply.

Anyway, I was wondering if someone did compare that 8.53mm or the 1:1 dimension.  I don't have a horse in this race, so I'm not planning to find dimensional drawings of this loco, but with all the discussion earlier I was wondering if someone did the comparison.

but he won't see my reply.

It is very easy to see replies of people you've blocked.   (I highly recommend using this feature...my enjoyment of TRW has increased x1000 since I started using it.)   So for example I could see Chris' reply alluding to the hood width, and could surmise that your post was related to that so I just clicked the "Show Post" link and could read it.

I have a horse in the race, but my "give-a-$#!%" meter is barely twitching.    ;)   Just enough that I figured I'd measure, since somebody asked.   It must be pretty close, otherwise we'd have had a dozen people bitching about how crappy the model is by now.

Yeah, I went and ordered one and then got the Halloween email.  My typical luck.

Sorta glad to hear I'm not the only one that this happens to! I remember having some N scale stuff I wanted to order from somewhere (maybe MBK), so I waited for Black Friday thinking surely they'd put it on sale then. Nope. So then I waited for Cyber Monday, thinking it would most certainly be on sale then. Wrong again. Then, soon after I go ahead and purchase it not on sale, some holiday (not typically known for triggering sales) comes along with a sale discount.
