I bet you've also had your hose for a while too. I have to buy a new one every single year. Even though I roll it out on the lawn to blow all the water out and coil it up nice in my shed. Still every year I get cracks or big bubbles that burst. I didn't buy one this year and there where a few pin holes every time I used it. So this winter screw it I'll leaving it outside.
Yes, my garden hose is few years old.
I used to buy the cheapest one I could find, and those lasted a season or two. I now buy the more expensive one and it does seem to last longer. It is still made of green plastic (vinyl?). The black rubber hoses are the most expensive, but they are wicked heavy.
Like you, I drain mine before winter and keep it rolled up on the hose cart. I used to take into the basement, but last couple of years I left it outside.
