Train H-NTWBRC, deep in Galena Territory along the Mississippi, 2/3/21. A rare stop in a scenic spot gave me a chance to grab a “self portrait.”

Well, that's special. We rarely see the few remaining Executive-paint SDs any more, and, here (Beardstown Sub), only on coal drags.

There's actually some good history between the Georgia, Ashburn, Sylvester and Camilla Railway and some other local southern GA short lines who were all owned by a logging family until the Southern bought it in the 60s. There is almost a steam engine in every town in between Columbus and Tallahassee, with a fair majority associated with this railroad in some way.
