Because the 'established' shonky tax systems and 'inducements' to produce better EVER INCREASING profits for shareholders (and thereby OWN CELERY!
) they dont give a shyte for locals and economies, or the environment.
We're at the bottom of the world, half a percent of anything global, and pay twice as much or more for products- our manufacturing has been destroyed.
Ok, so I bought a bunch of coloured polo shirts made in china in 90's for $9 apiece and they still wear ok. Stunning!
And in 2013 before being dumped from an ivory tower, I bought some locally hand made (material contracted overseas) and paid $99 for these beautiful specimens of casual/ smart print shirts.
You do what you can for 'private' local enterprise... not the corporate goonies...
