Holding small electrical parts or other things as well

You ever struggle to hold down something while trying to solder it? Something I have been using  a removable mounting putty.
such has   https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/products/fix/general-purpose/loctite_fun-tak_mountingputty.html
Those little sugar cube speakers, roll up a 1/4 inch ball and press the enclosure onto it. Solder your wires with out chasing it all over your work bench.
hold your loco while doing some work like wiring, you can angle you work to suit your needs.
this might belong in the tool section, but found this to be very helpful in doing DCC installs, so I put it here.
Some may already know about this stuff. if so Great, if not give it a try

I have used it to hold a small PCB, where I need to solder a small 3MM LED to the board   I stick the board to the mounting tape so the place where the LED goes, is not by the mounting.  Then take a small piece to hold the LED in position and solder.

Good idea.
When I need to hold SMD LEDs (upside down) for soldering wires, I place them on either double-sided clear tape, blue masking tape with adhesive side up, or sometimes Scotch clear mounting tape.

I like that too. I used stuff from South Africa (my wife is from there so we visit often) called Prestik. I like it because it doesn't have coloring in it, but like all these materials it leaves an oily residue. Not much, not really important on electronics, but when I stick stuff to the wall which is its primary purpose ;)

Yes agreed.  I use UK version called Blutak but same concept.  Can get it at the equivelent of the dollar store when I go over there.

Only issue I have found is if you get it super super hot it can sort of melt but it takes leaving the soldering iron on a part way to long.

Yes , the stuff I am using does not like heat! That is why I noted the way I have it held to the PCB.
GET the soldering tip too close and you will have a mess, big time. Then you are stuck-ice cube to cool and pick off a little at a time.
I have not noticed any oil from it, but I am working a PCB most of the time.
