Painting Kato Smoothside Passenger Car Under Body Detail?

I've been watching E-Bay for a Kato smoothside RPO and I keep getting nothing but UP.  I think Kato sells the trucks in black for $12 but I would also need to paint the under body black.  Is the under body plastic the paintable kind or the slippery kind?

Thanks,

Jason

No, it's easily painted.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

The underframes are an easy to paint plastic like an ABS blend or styrene, I did have trouble with a water based paint, but Tru-Color sprayed on just fine.

I also have brand new extras of those black GSC 41-CS-11 trucks, they came off a new Kato Southwest Limited set since I replaced them with later GSC 41-CUDO trucks.
Same price but cheaper than Kato shipping, if you're interested and not getting anything else from Kato as parts.
