Removing windows from a N Kato SD40-2

Picked up a couple used Kato SD40s and want to strip and repaint but I'm having trouble getting the side windows out of the cab.  Anybody have a trick or can point me to a video that shows how to do it.  The windshield and number boards pushed out no problem just can't get the other ones out.  Also will the handrails survive an IPA (not beer) soaking to remove paint?

Oh yes, after about 10 minutes of nearly destroying this thing I came real close to getting the one I keep handy down stairs

It should be the same as the SD45 I was working on yesterday. The side windows are snap-in, with the front and back (door) windows acting as spring latches. You VERY gently pry the bottom tab of one of these little windows while exerting slight pressure on the side window. It should pop out.

It does sound the same as my situation.  I did notice the door windows seemed to be the means to which the side glass stays in place but they just don't seem to come out.  I'll fiddle around some more and thank you!  And holy cow I read your build, amazing

The easiest way that I've found is to push on the side windows with a toothpick, either the front or rear faces, not the face that would be under the sunshade, this will easily unlatch the glass without scratching it.

I finally got it thanks.  No hammer needed.  I had pretty good luck taking off the paint using regular Iso Pro Alcohol and a little nylon brush on my Dremel tool, worked surprisingly well considering what I read on the subject.
