A similar thing happened back when I was at Kato USA.  Kato Japan was still doing OEM and some of the Atlas HO diesels (don't recall which ones at the moment) were allegedly experiencing motor failures for customers using Troller "Blue Wave" power packs.   At the time the initial thought was that the particular armatures were assembled using ultrasonic termination of the windings and that the modified DC pulse was unsoldering the wire causing the motor to short out.   We contacted the successor to Troller and they denied it could happen.  Somehow, at least on the Kato USA end, the crisis fizzled out; don't know if Atlas ever got a resolution with Japan or if it was just a fluke.  No public warnings were issued IIRC and soon Kato was out of the OEM business anyway.

Not just one model of DC supply.
Quoting from the Rapido website, it's the "MRC 1300-series controller (or any other "train set" DC controller)".
So, that would include the MRC 1300 and 1370, plus any other models from any other manufacturers which might fall into the vague catch-all of "train set" DC controller.

Yes, Charlie, it was the Troller packs that I always heard about damaging motors, including Sagami can motors in larger scales.

Yup.  It's a double failure on them in my opinion.  It's arguable that any DC powerpack is a 'trainset' powerpack.  It's also arguable that the Railpower 1300 is not one.
