The beaded tongue and groove vertical siding should be pretty reliably about 1..75" to 2.25" on center.  That would put the cab at about 5.5' long front to back.  Does that help?  I mean, the vertical lines basically give you a scale ruler if you determine what the width of the bead board is.

I have it printed out at what I think is HO scale.

The thing is I started this to get my modeling juices going and well it just ain't working.  :|    According to the date on photos I haven't touched my layout since September. So many projects are just sitting there, but I just have no motivation. Think I stopped to rake the leaves and never started back up.

Hey Chris, how about doing some N scale modeling instead?  :)

Think I have that very same photo printed out and sitting on my desk at home. I do like the locomotive and a model of it was made, but is horribly out of scale.

The guy standing n front of the boiler can’t be taller than 5’ at the most. He’s small even for the times.

That photo above is supposed to be from a Chargin Falls narrow gauge line that was once up near Cleveland, but I seen people say that wasn't one of their locomotives. Either way I like it. Here is the photo I have:

This is the oversized HO model that was produced by a few different companies:

I bought one and I also have 2 sets of scale drawings, yeah they don't come close to matching size wise.
