Really large scale part

Well this is the "or larger Scale" thread.
Recently I was gifted with what I'm told is a fireman's tool for raking the firebox. It is 6.5 feet long of 3/4" iron rod, has a large ring (hand hold) on one end and a 90* bend at the other about 6 inches long ending in a single tooth.  This was found on the ground near the John Sevier roundhouse site, and looks like it.   In ya'lls considered opinion is this a RR tool?

From the description I don't doubt that it's a railroad tool.  Maybe a fire rake, maybe a clinker hook.

... maybe a clinker hook.

That was my first thought.
